Antique jugendstil photo fil de fer frame
Features beveled glass. The mechanism: This is the classic French *fil de fer* (iron wire) clip system. The metal frame grips the beveled glass under tension, holding the card firmly in place without the need for a backplate. There are a few tiny nicks in the beveled glass—barely visible and nothing unusual given its age—but worth mentioning.
